Evidence: "As I have not much information to give you I will begin by making my requests which are that I hope you will go down to the Bristol Library & find out these things, copying the infomation concerning them: [...] 2. The Pedigree of Fitz Symonds or Fitz Simon from an history of Kent. Any account of them." After searching for books that contained the genealogical information requested by JAS, I narrowed the possibilities to two works: that listed here and The history and topographical survey of the county of Kent by Edward Hasted, which was first published 1778-1799. Both works include the information JAS requested, so absent additional evidence and given the significant time difference between the two works, I have elected to represent first edition of the series by William Henry Ireland as it is more contemporaneous with JAS's time.
